Vancouver Police Department and Filipino Community Forge Stronger Bonds at an Info Session

11 October 2023 – The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) and the members of the Filipino community came together at a dialogue and info session held on 5 October 2023 at the Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver.

This gathering provided a unique opportunity for community members to connect with the officers of the VPD and gain valuable insights into the services they provide to various communities.

The event commenced with the remarks from Consul General Arlene Magno, who expressed gratitude for the ongoing efforts of the VPD in ensuring the safety and security of the Filipino community and the entire city.  She underscored the importance of building bridges between the community and law enforcement, fostering understanding, trust, and mutual respect.

Representing the VPD, Sergeant Terry Parmer, Sergeant Alex Charles and Detective Constable Jose Domingo shared details about the initiatives undertaken by the Department to create a safer environment for all residents and shed light on the day-to-day challenges faced by law enforcement officers.

The highlight of the event was the open forum session, where community members had the opportunity to pose questions, share concerns, and engage in candid discussions with the officers. The open forum facilitated a meaningful dialogue, allowing community members to voice their thoughts and receive direct responses from the VPD representatives. END
