Vancouver PCG Hosts a 2nd Kapihan with the Media

The officers of the Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver, led by Consul General Maria Andrelita S. Austria, meet with media members from OMNI News, Ms. Rhea Santos and                Ms. Marieton Pacheco, during the 2^nd Kapihan sa Konsulado on 22 October 2021.

22 October 2021 – The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver hosted a 2^nd Kapihan sa Konsulado with media members from OMNI News. The Kapihan sa Konsulado is one of the initiatives of the Consulate to engage the media and members of the Filipino community through informal coffee gatherings.  The 1st batch of Kapihan with Media was held last 18 August 2021.

Consul General Maria Andrelita S. Austria shared the current priorities of the Consulate as well as the consular enhancements implemented by Post to cope with the challenges of the pandemic.  Consul General Austria also presented the Consulate’s different economic diplomacy and community projects such as the Maligayang Pasko, Vancouver!, Proudly Philippines, Manila Comes to Town Food Truck and Kape at Tsokolate.

The meeting also explored ideas on how the media and the Consulate can work together in addressing various challenges faced by Filipino-Canadians. END
