PROUDLY PHILIPPINES 2023

The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver, in partnership with the Philippine Department of Tourism in San Francisco, is pleased to announce the holding of this year’s Proudly Philippines on 03 June 2023 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Robson Square Plaza in Downtown Vancouver.

First launched in 2019, Proudly Philippines is a food and travel fair organized by the Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver every June, to commemorate Filipino Heritage Month in Canada and Philippine Independence Day.  The event aims to highlight everything Filipino from the food, clothing,   fashion and accessories, services and tour packages sold by participating vendors in the market to the cultural program showcasing Filipino talent and culture. By showcasing Philippine cuisine and travel destinations to the Canadians and second-generation Filipino-Canadian markets, the Consulate hopes to create a “Philippine experience” and introduce to them a glimpse of Filipino culture and entice them to visit the many beautiful places in the Philippines.

Another highlight of the day-long event under the cultural program is the Tinikling 2.0 competition, which is being held for the first time with the support of GMA Pinoy TV.  Invited groups will perform and showcase their modern take on this traditional Filipino folk dance.  The winner for this competition will take home a cash prize of CAD 1,500.00. The event will be hosted by Cristina Carpio of CTV Morning Live.END
