Proudly Philippines is the Consulate’s flagship project in celebration of Philippine Independence Day and Filipino Heritage Month in Canada.  Now on its 6th year, apart from  bringing together Filipino-Canadian businesses selling Filipino cuisine, food and non-food products, and tour packages to Philippine destinations, Proudly Philippines will also feature the Province of Batangas and some of its well-known products, such as  coffee (kapeng barako), local textiles and designs (Habing Ibaan and Burdang Taal), turmeric and ginger brew, and other edible local products like banana chips and ube powder, as well as tourist destinations, Taal Lake and Volcano, the beaches of San Juan and Calatagan.

As in the past years, the whole-day event likewise provides the Filipino community a venue for getting together on the twin occasions, while enjoying the cultural performances alongside the market that complete the “Philippine experience” for  Canadian guests and second-generation Filipino-Canadians.  END
