POLO Vancouver, together with the representatives from OWWA, SSS, and the Ladrido Financial Group, conducted an information session and financial literacy seminar on 13 August 2022 to 45 Filipino TFW greenhouse workers of Rainbow Greenhouses in Chilliwack, British Columbia. The company produces annual flowering plants, indoor plants, indoor florals, tropical and cut flowers, and supply them to various retail locations in Canada and the US, such as Walmart, Ikea, Whole Foods, and others.
The POLO Team was composed of Labor Attaché Jainal Rasul, Jr., Assistant Labor Attaché Oliva Macawili, OWWA Welfare Officer Lilia Guzman, AS Rica Maria Bernardez, AS Neil Justin Nicolas, and AS Imelda Cabansag. The team provided information on the programs and services of POLO, including verification of employment documents, OEC issuance, as well as the welfare programs and benefits of OWWA membership.
