Philippine Women’s Softball Team Competes in Canada

SURREY, 04 July 2024 – The Philippine National Women's Softball Team, known as the Blu Girls, is proudly representing the Philippines at the prestigious Canada Cup International Softball Championship. The event is being held from June 28 to July 7 at the Softball City Complex in Surrey, British Columbia.

Under the mentorship of Coach Ana Santiago and supported by Cebuana Lhuillier, the Blu Girls arrived in Canada with determination to compete against international teams.  Their participation marks a significant moment for Philippine softball, showcasing the talent and sportsmanship of Filipino athletes on an international stage.

In a show of support and solidarity, Philippine Consul General Arlene Magno and Consul Analyn Ratonel attended the Parade of Athletes on 03 July 2024, upon the invitation of the Canada Cup Host Committee.

Also competing in the tournament are Mexico, Chinese-Taipei, Australia, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Israel, Czech Republic, Greece, and Canada.  END
