25 June 2021 - DCG Arlene Magno (5R) joined the Langley Community Services Society (LCSS) in celebrating Filipino Heritage Month at their new office site over the weekend. With her in the photo from LCSS are Ms. Mary Tanielian (6R), Senior Manager, Mary Tecson (3R), Program Manager for Settlement and Employment Services, and Mr. Melvin Magno (leftmost), Youth Employment Counsellor. Also in the photo are Professor Nora Angeles (4L) of the University of British Columbia who gave a presentation on Filipino history and culture and some of the members of the Filipino choir who provided the entertainment for the event.
In her remarks, DCG Magno thanked the LCSS for honoring the occasion, saying it was a testament to the respect and value placed on their Filipino staff. She also congratulated the LCSS on their new building and assured them of the Consulate's continuing support for their important work in enriching the lives of their community, which also included the Filipino immigrant community in Langley.
