12 October 2023 – Consul General Arlene T. Magno graced the launch of the Philippine Tanduay Rum in British Columbia on 04 October 2023, upon the invitation of its local distributor, Christopher Stewart Wine & Spirits. The event was held at the Lunch Lady, a Michelin Guide Vietnamese restaurant in Vancouver, jointly owned by a Filipino chef and his Vietnamese partner. The launch was also attended by executives of Tanduay Distillers, Inc. in the Philippines, their business partners, and guests, as well as some members of the media.
According to Mr. Tyler Mackenzie, Brand Manager at Christopher Stewart Wine & Spirits, Tanduay Rum is available in over 200 liquor stores, bars and pubs in BC. He added that Tanduay Rum is now also available in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario and will also be sold in other Canadian provinces in the near future. There are five variants of Tanduay Rum - Tanduay Asian Rum Gold, Tanduay Asian Rum Silver, Tanduay Double Rum, Tanduay Boracay Coconut Rum, and Tanduay Boracay Capuccino Rum, but only the Tanduay Asian Rum Gold and the Tanduay Asian Rum Silver were showcased at the launch event. The different rum concoctions were paired with delicious Filipino food exclusively prepared by the chef for the launch. Christopher Stewart Wine & Spirits is also the distributor in British Columbia of another Philippine rum brand, Don Papa, which is sold in BC Liquor stores. END
