Philippine Consulate General Hosts An Art Exhibit Launch Featuring Filipino-Canadian Artist Charlie Frenal

VANCOUVER 14 January 2025. The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver hosted the launch of the solo art exhibit of Mr. Charlie Frenal on 10 January 2025 at the Consulate premises. The event celebrated Frenal’s exceptional talent and his contributions to the promotion of Filipino culture and heritage through art.
The program opened with the welcome remarks from Consul General Gina A. Jamoralin, who emphasized the importance of art as a medium for storytelling and cultural preservation, highlighting Frenal’s ability to reflect his Filipino heritage in his works.
The exhibit opening featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Consul General Jamoralin, artist Charlie Frenal, and several members of the Filipino-Canadian community. Another highlight of the event was the deed of donation ceremony, where Frenal generously donated one of his notable artworks to the Philippine Consulate General. This donation symbolizes the enduring collaboration between Filipino artists and the Consulate in preserving and promoting Philippine culture abroad.
In recognition of Frenal’s artistic achievements and his dedication to fostering cultural ties, the Consulate presented him with a Certificate of Appreciation. Attendees also expressed admiration for the artist’s unique style and heartfelt narratives, which bring to life the stories of the Filipino-Canadian diaspora.
The Philippine Consulate General continues to champion initiatives that celebrate the creativity and achievements of Filipino artists. The exhibit will be open for public viewing at the Consulate until 30 June 2025. END
