23 April 2022 – Consul General Maria Andrelita Austria, along with Deputy Consul General Arlene T. Magno, Consuls Analyn D. Ratonel and Ericka Anna T. Abad, and Consulate staff, graced the grand opening of the second restaurant of Pampanga’s Cuisine along the busy Fraser Street in Vancouver. Consul General Austria was joined by Senator Yonah Martin in the ribbon-cutting ceremony held at noon time, with the assistance of restaurant owners, siblings Edith Malang and Ramon Montemayor. Also present at the event were family members of the owners, friends from the Filipino community, and customers of the restaurant.
Pampanga’s Cuisine’s first store opened in June 2018 along Joyce Street. According to Ms. Malang, they decided to open a second restaurant to serve their growing customer base and allow more Canadians and Filipinos to enjoy their famous crispy sisig, a famous Filipino dish from the province of Pampanga, as well as other Filipino favorites.
Pampanga’s Cuisine is an active partner of the Philippine Consulate General in its economic diplomacy and cultural projects and is currently participating in this month’s Filipino Restaurant Month in Canada (FRMC), a common cultural project undertaken by the Philippine Posts in Canada, in partnership with the Philippine Department of Tourism in San Francisco, wherein participating Filipino restaurants in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa, and other places, offer prix fixe menus and dining customers get a chance to win raffle prizes.
Pampanga’s Cuisine is open daily (except on Tuesdays) for dine-in and take out. It also provides catering services for any occasion. END
