03 October 2022 – On 30 September 2023, the Holy Trinity Parish in North Vancouver came alive with the vibrant colors, sounds, and flavors of Filipino culture as the community celebrated the Feast Day of San Lorenzo Ruiz.
Consul Analyn Ratonel, representing the Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver, joined the members of the Filipino Community and delivered remarks on the significance of San Lorenzo Ruiz's life and legacy.
The celebration featured an array of cultural performances, showcasing traditional Philippine dances and music. Attendees were treated to a feast of authentic Filipino cuisine.
San Lorenzo Ruiz is the first Filipino saint and a martyr of the Roman Catholic Church. His feast day is celebrated on September 28th each year, commemorating his martyrdom and honoring his contributions to the faith. San Lorenzo Ruiz is revered as a symbol of courage, faith, and devotion, especially among Filipino Catholics. END
