17 January 2024, Vancouver – The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver, in its commitment to fostering a workplace that promotes equality and inclusivity, organized an Echo Training on Gender and Development (GAD) on 12 January 2024. The focus of this training was on Gender-Fair Communication, an essential aspect of creating a gender-sensitive and respectful environment within the Consulate.
The Consulate’s GAD Focal Point Officer (GFPO), Consul Analyn D. Ratonel, served as the resource speaker, following her participation in the DFA’s GAD Regional Seminar held in November 2023.
The Gender-Fair Communication training aimed to empower Consulate personnel with the necessary tools to communicate effectively while being sensitive to gender-related nuances. The echo training was also conducted to ensure that Post’s officers and personnel are fully informed of the Department’s GAD thrusts, initiatives and policies. END
