PH Consulate General Assumes Chairmanship of ASEAN Committee in Vancouver

18 December 2023 – The ASEAN Consuls General in Vancouver (AGCV) convened for a meeting on 14 December 2023 at the Consulate General of Malaysia, marking the end of a productive year under the chairmanship of Malaysia and Thailand.

During the meeting, the Chairmanship of the ACGV for the period of January to June 2024 was officially handed over to the Philippines, represented by the undersigned, in an official turnover ceremony.

Outgoing Chair Malaysian Consul General Mohd Afandi Bin Abu was acknowledged for the Consulate’s competent leadership and significant programs throughout its six-month term.  The meeting also provided a platform for the Consuls General to reflect on the challenges and accomplishments of 2023 and set the stage for the initiatives planned for the first half of 2024, aimed at further promoting awareness of ASEAN.

ACGV is comprised of five ASEAN Member States: Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Viet Nam. END
