PCG Celebrates the 44th Annual Ati-Atihan Festival with Aklanon Santo Niño Association of BC

Vancouver,14 January 2025. Consul General Gina A. Jamoralin joined the 44th Annual Ati-Atihan Festival which was held at the St. Patrick’s Recreation Center on 11 January 2025.

The program opened with a lively drumming sequence warmly welcoming the Consul General before the start of her speech. In her remarks, Consul General Jamoralin commended the Aklanon Santo Niño Association of British Columbia for “keeping the tradition alive” for the past 44 years. She further added that through the association’s dedication, the group “created not just a cultural event but a legacy that connects to our roots and one that strengthens our binds as Filipinos thereby inspiring younger generation to take pride in our heritage.”

Consul General Jamoralin updated the Filipino community on the upcoming OV elections on 12 May 2025 and urged them to pre-register online starting 10 March 2025 and to monitor COMELEC updates via Vancouver PCG website and social media.

Present during the event were Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) Mr. Lawrence Mok of Maple Ridge East, Ms. Lynn Block of West Vancouver Capilano, Ms. Elenore Sturko of Surrey Cloverdale and Mr. Bryan Tepper of Surrey Panorama. Each spoke and greeted the Filipino audience warmly during the event. END
