VANCOUVER, 19 December 2024 – Philippine Consul General Gina A. Jamoralin attended the Handover Meeting of the ASEAN Consuls General in Vancouver (ACGV) held on 12 December 2024 at the official residence of the ACGV Chair Hendra Halim of Indonesia. She is accompanied by Consul Analyn Ratonel who constitutes the ACGV working group level among ASEAN Consulates.
The group discussed recent developments of mutual concern and administrative matters, reflecting ASEAN's shared values of dialogue and cooperation. The discussions also underscored the members’ commitment to work closely together in implementing future projects and activities aimed at promoting greater awareness of ASEAN in Vancouver and across Canada.
A key highlight of the meeting was the formal handover of the Chairmanship of the ACGV. Consul General Halim officially handed over leadership to Consul General Thu Phan of Vietnam.
Consul General Jamoralin expressed the Philippine Consulate's full support for the initiatives of the ACGV under the new Chairmanship of Vietnam, emphasizing the group's role in strengthening ASEAN-Canada relations.
The Chairmanship of the ACGV, composed of the Consulates General of Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam, rotates every six months. END
