VANCOUVER 24 OCTOBER 2024 – The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver joind Goldilocks Bake Shop’s celebration of its 40th year of business in Canada. To mark this occasion, Goldilocks Vancouver invited select guests to their  Main St. branch to participate in a “goodle” fight, a portmanteau of the brand and the traditional boodle-style dining in Filipino cultures.

The Consulate was represented by Acting Head of Post Analyn D. Ratonel and Vice Consul Marco Harder. Members of the media and other personalities in the Vancouver food scene were also present.

Goldilocks Managing Director Maj Yee opened the Goodle fight by thanking attendees and proceeded to provide instructions to the guests how to eat boodle-style with their hands.

Guests were treated to generous helpings of traditional Filipino fare such as lechong kawali, okoy, embotido, lumpiang sariwa, among others. For dessert, Goldilocks served two unorthodox expressions of halo-halo — one taking the form of a cake and another done turon-style to complement a serving done in the traditional way over shaved ice.

The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver supports Filipino-owned restaurants to engage the 160,000+ strong Filipino diaspora in British Columbia, as well as promoting Filipino culinary traditions in its area of jurisdiction. END
