NEW WESTMINSTER, BC, 20 February 2025 – Balai in the Borough, a new Filipino dining experience, officially opened its doors to the public on 19 February 2025 in New Westminster, British Columbia. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by Consul Analyn Ratonel, Balai restaurant owners Evelyn Lopez and Luzviminda Antonio, and Mr. Ernesto Ong of Rotary Club of Vancouver Mountainview (RCVM). The event marked the beginning of a new chapter in the growing appreciation for Filipino cuisine in the region.
