Filipino-Canadian City Councillor in Whitehorse, Yukon Receives Philippine Consul General in Vancouver

18 August 2023 – Whitehorse City Councillor Jocelyn Curteanu received Consul General Arlene Magno at the City Hall where she briefed her on the Yukon Nominee Program, which was the main pathway through which Filipinos have been entering the Territory since 2007.  ConGen Magno said that the Filipino community was doing well and thriving, with many of them owning food, cleaning service or daycare businesses.  She was grateful to the City government for welcoming and embracing the Filipino community and offered the Consulate’s continuing support for its programs and projects.  Councillor Curteanu replied that the work of the Consulate over the years is very much appreciated by the people of Yukon.
