Jamoralin joined the Ateneo Alumni Association of British Columbia (AAABC) in its Annual Spring Gala: “A Night of Hope” held on 05 April 2025, at the Hilton Vancouver Metrotown, in support of two vital causes: the Ateneo Scholarship Fund and the BC Cancer Foundation. The event brought together Filipino-Canadian community leaders, professionals, and advocates for an inspiring night of philanthropy and fellowship.
In her remarks, Consul General Jamoralin lauded the AAABC for its continued efforts to uplift lives both in Canada and the Philippines. She also took the opportunity to share key updates with the community, including the schedule of online overseas voting from April 13 to May 12, 2025, and encouraged eligible Filipinos in British Columbia to exercise their right to vote. The Consul General also introduced Vancouver’s Emergency Response Mapping Registry (VERMAP) and urged the community to register, highlighting its role in disaster preparedness and support for vulnerable populations. In celebration of Filipino Restaurant Month in Canada, she invited attendees to visit and support participating Filipino restaurants across Canada throughout April as part of efforts to promote Filipino cuisine and small businesses.
Joining the Consul General was Mr. Darwin Soria, a representative from the Philippine Social Security System (SSS), who provided updates and answered inquiries from the community regarding SSS benefits, voluntary contributions, and membership options for Filipinos residing abroad.
The Consulate congratulates the Ateneo Alumni Association of BC on the success of this year’s gala and thanks the Filipino-Canadian community for its continued support and active involvement in programs that promote Filipino heritage, civic participation, and social responsibility. END
