4 March 2025, Vancouver B.C. On its fourth year, the Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver and the Philippine Department of Tourism (PDOT) San Francisco (SFO) collaborated once again to promote Philippine tourism at this year’s Outdoor Adventure and Travel Show (OATS) held at the Vancouver Convention Center from 01 to 02 March 2025.

This year, the Consulate and PDOT-SFO shared the Philippine booth with the representatives from the Philippine Airlines Vancouver and Air Canada, which is launching direct flights to Manila from Vancouver starting April 1st, 2025.

Together, the team distributed pamphlets and brochures on the Philippines’ best destination sites – Mimaropa, Eastern Visayas, Western Visayas and the Caraga region.  Post gave away flyers of the 2025 US VIP Tour to promote travel to the Philippines. Likewise, Post informed interested Canadians to sign up for the next year’s edition of the Winter Escapade 2026 so that Post would send them the detailed travel itinerary and pricing. About 73 Canadians who never travelled to the Philippines signed up and showed interest in the tour. Fifty pieces (50) pieces of eco bag featuring the new “Love the Philippines” logo and another fifty (50) pieces of Philippine Airlines mini backpacks were also given away to visitors at the Philippine booth. Several kinds of Philippines candies were also offered to children visiting the booth.

PDOT - SFO representative, Ms. Stephanie Hermoso, Philippine Airlines Sales agent, Ms. Maria Aileen Gabat, and Mr. Deejay Lee of Air Canada took turns with the Consulate staff, Ms. Lyra Ocampo, Cultural Officer and Ms. Christina Aquino, Consular Assistant, in stamping kids “OATS passport”, introducing newest travel destinations including popular tourist attractions as well as dive spots and interesting itineraries to visitors to the booth. The undersigned visited the booth on the first day and chatted with the public.

Over 250 exhibitors offering the latest camping gear, paddle sports, outdoor clothing and scuba diving gears participated in this year’s OATS.  In addition over 40 adventure presentations were made at the International stage to help guests plan their next adventures.

OATS, in conjunction with the BC Bike Show, is Canada’s premier expo for outdoor and adventure activities.
