February 19, 2025, Manila – Ambassador and Consuls General of the various Philippine foreign services posts in Canada in Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary led by Ambassador Maria Andrelita Austria (Ottawa); Consul General Angelica Escalona (Toronto); Consul General Emma Sarne (Calgary) and Consul General Gina Jamoralin (Vancouver) met with CFO Chairperson, Secretary Dante Ang II on February 19, 2025 at the CFO Office in Quezon City. Secretary Ang was accompanied by CFO Executive Director Undersecretary Ma. Arlene Borja, Ms. Marita del Rosario-Apattad, Chief Emigrant Services Officer and Mr. Rodrigo Garcia Jr., Supervising Emigrant Officer and other CFO officials.
Both parties exchanged views on how to enhance CFO services and projects catered to Filipinos working, studying and living in Canada including pre-departure orientation seminars, Filipino language teaching and immersion programs for Filipino-Canadian millennials.
The Canada-based Philippine diplomats were in the Philippines to join Filipino-Canadian delegates to the annual Winter Escapade (WE) Tour held on February 9 to 18, 2025. This year, the tour covered Manila-Ilocos Norte-Ilocos Sur- La Union-Pangasinan route. The WE Tour is a yearly project of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Philippine Embassy and Consulates General in Canada, Department of Tourism in cooperation with Rajah Tours. END
