“Pinoy Tiangge” Celebrates Filipino Culture and Supports Local Entrepreneurs in British Columbia

Burnaby, BC, 24 February 2025 – The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver, represented by Consul Analyn D. Ratonel, joined the Filipino Community in the opening of the “Pinoy Market Barangay Tiangge,” jointly organized by the Pinoy Festival Alliance and Barangay Burnaby, at the Metrotown Banquet Hall in Burnaby, British Columbia on 23 February 2025.

The “Pinoy Tiangge” brought the Filipino community together to celebrate unique products, handcrafted goods, and local talent in a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere.  The market highlighted the rich craftsmanship and creativity of Filipino entrepreneurs, while showcasing the diversity of products available from local vendors.

Consul Ratonel, in her remarks, underscored the importance of supporting local businesses and fostering a sense of community. She said that the market is a great example of how Filipinos can support one another while celebrating the best of Philippine culture.  Member of Parliament (P) Peter Julian also spoke at the event, emphasizing the importance of fostering economic growth through community-driven initiatives.

In addition to the market, attendees enjoyed live entertainment throughout the day, adding to the festive atmosphere.

The next “Pinoy Market Tiangge” is already in the works, and the organizers are excited to continue growing this celebration of Filipino culture, talent, and local entrepreneurship. END
