The Philippine Consulate General Attends Launch Event of the Mixed Media and Music Artists’ Society of BC

17 September 2024, Burnaby BC – The Philippine Consulate General attended the Mixed Media and Music Artists’ Society of BC (MMMASBC) Launch Event organized by Mr. Raymond Maliwat on 31 August 2024 in Burnaby, B.C.

Post was represented by Vice Consul Marco Frederick B. Harder, who delivered congratulatory remarks at the event. Also present as guests of honor at the event were Burnaby Councillor Maita Santiago, Philippine Historama President Carmelita Tapia, and UFCABC President Christian Cunanan.

In his remarks, Vice Consul Harder highlighted that the Consulate is truly proud of the Filipino diaspora’s achievements in the creative vocations. He also emphasized its role in uplifting members of the Filipino community.

The program showcased the musical talents of Mr. Ron Militar and Ms. Emee Escaro, both directors of MMMASBC, who entertained guests at dinnertime. Prominently displayed as backdrops were the three dimensional artworks of Mr. Raymond Maliwat, Visual Artist and Executive Director of MMMASBC, as well as the paintings of up and coming artist, Mr. Orlando Dugay, Director of MMMASBC.

The highlight of the program was the presentation of one of Mr. Orlando Dugay’s paintings to the Philippine Consulate, which he pledged as a gift.
