25 January 2024, Surrey, British Columbia – Jollibee, an international fast-food chain from the Philippines, opened its new Surrey, British Columbia location on Thursday, January 25. The Surrey Strawberry Hill location is the fourth Jollibee in the Metro Vancouver region, but it represents another milestone for the fast-food franchise – it is the chain's 100th North American restaurant.
The inauguration ceremony was held on 24 January 2024 attended by the Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver, represented by Consul Analyn Ratonel, Councillor Pardeep Kooner from the City of Surrey, Jollibee management executives, members of the media, and the Filipino community.
The event, hosted by Filipino celebrity Martin Nievera, commenced with a ribbon cutting followed by the remarks from Ms. Maribeth de la Cruz, President of Jollibee North America. Ms. dela Cruz expressed her gratitude for the unwavering support from the Filipino community and highlighted Jollibee's commitment to bringing the authentic flavors of the Philippines to a global audience. Consul Ratonel, in turn, acknowledged the significance of Jollibee as a cultural ambassador promoting the rich culinary heritage of the Philippines. She also thanked Jollibee for bringing ‘home’ closer to Filipinos in British Columbia. END
